Common Stamping Material - Hot-rolled Sheet

The thickness of hot-rolled plates used for Stamping production is generally ≤ 16mm, and deep stamping is generally ≤ 8mm. The surface quality of hot-rolled plates can be divided into two levels: FA and FB. The surface treatment methods for hot-rolled plates can be either pickling or non pickling.

The commonly used non acid washed surface hot-rolled plates for stamping are mostly made of high-quality carbon structural steel materials. High quality carbon structural steel is a carbon steel with a carbon content of less than 0.8%. This steel contains less sulfur, phosphorus, and non-metallic inclusions than carbon structural steel, and has better mechanical properties. According to different carbon content, it can be divided into three categories: low carbon steel (C ≤ 0.25%), medium carbon steel (C is 0.25-0.6%), and high carbon steel (C>0.6%). Divided into two groups based on different manganese contents: normal manganese content (0.25% -0.8%) and higher manganese content (0.70% -1.20%), the latter having good mechanical and processing properties. This type of board is mostly used in the automotive, aviation industry, and other sectors. The steel grades are boiling steel: 08F, 10F, 15F; Killed steel: 08, 08AL, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50. 25 and below are low-carbon steel plates, and 30 and above are medium carbon steel plates.

Hot rolled pickled plate is an intermediate product that uses high-quality hot rolled thin plates as raw materials, and after removing the oxide layer, trimming, and finishing by the pickling machine, the surface quality and usage requirements (mainly cold Bending or stamping performance) are between hot rolled and cold rolled plates. It is an ideal substitute for some hot rolled and cold rolled plates. Compared with hot-rolled plates, the advantages of pickled plates mainly lie in: 1) good surface quality, as hot-rolled pickled plates remove surface oxide scales, improve the surface quality of steel, and facilitate welding, oiling, and painting. 2) High dimensional accuracy, after leveling, can cause certain changes in the plate shape, thereby reducing the deviation of unevenness. 3) Improved surface smoothness and enhanced appearance effect. 4) It can reduce environmental pollution caused by dispersed acid washing by users. Compared with cold rolled sheet, the advantage of pickled sheet is that it effectively reduces procurement costs for users while ensuring surface quality usage requirements. At present, many enterprises have increasingly high requirements for high-performance and low-cost steel. With the continuous progress of steel rolling technology, the performance of hot-rolled sheet is approaching that of cold-rolled sheet, enabling the technical realization of "replacing cold with heat". It can be said that pickled sheet is a product with a relatively high cost performance ratio between cold rolled sheet and hot rolled sheet, and has good market development prospects. However, from the current perspective, the use of pickled boards in various industries in China has only just started, and professional production of pickled boards began in September 2001 when Baosteel's pickling production line was put into operation.

The pickling board market is mainly reflected in the following four aspects: replacing cold rolling, replacing hot rolling, replacing imports, and replacing small pickling. Among them, replacing imports and small pickling is actually an existing market, and the market is limited and cannot be completely replaced. With the rapid development of industries such as automobiles, machinery, and light industry, enterprises are facing enormous pressure from market competition, and their requirements for product cost and quality are increasingly increasing. Pickled boards, with their high cost-effectiveness, will completely replace some cold and hot plates, and will gradually be recognized by users. The surface of pickled hot rolled plates can be coated with oil for rust prevention treatment.

The hot rolled plate grade in Japan is usually represented as SPHC - the first S is the abbreviation for Steel, P is the abbreviation for Plate, H is the abbreviation for Hot Heat, and C is the abbreviation for Commercial. The overall representation is generally hot-rolled steel plates and strips.

SPHD - represents hot-rolled steel plates and strips for stamping; SPHE - Refers to hot-rolled steel plates and strips for deep drawing.
